A Word from the President

Greetings. I hope that Spring is greeting you with a flush new growth in your collection. As Spring flowers blossom in April, I’d like to bring you all up to date on the many events taking place this month with GNOBS.

-- April 2-6: The New Orleans Museum of Art will present their “Art In Bloom” show. We will be presenting several member trees at this show.
-- April 5-6: The Spring Garden Show will take place at the City Park Botanical Gardens. We will need help setting up our display on Friday, April 4. We will also need member trees to display at the show. Contact me, Bill Butler at 455-5282 if you can help with setup or have any trees you would like to display. We’re not looking for competition level trees; we wish to simply demonstrate the work of our members.
-- April 8: We will have our annual club giveaway at our April meeting. The first 25 members at the meeting will receive a shimpaku juniper to work on at the meeting. The club will provide the wire.
-- April 12: GNOBS will host their annual styling event at Banting’s Nursery from 8am to noon. Come out and help introduce the public to bonsai.
